Fever is a good thing to your body as it is the attempt to kill the bacteria or virus by producing heat in your body. The normal temperature of the fever on an average of 98.6 degrees Fahrenheit but it can be a degree above or below and it varies like low in the early morning and high in the late afternoon or evening. Fever is caused mostly by bacteria or virus. when these invades, the white blood cells will began to attack by releasing a substance called pyrogen which reaches the brain and signals to the hypothalamus (a tiny structure at the base of the brain and it is body’s natural temperature-control system) to raise itself at a higher point than normal and that would be above 100 degrees F which makes you feel that you have fever.

1 Apple Cider Vinegar


Apple cider vinegar draws the heat from the body to the location of cloths and allows it to get dissipate. It is rich in minerals and helps you in storing the lost minerals and keeps you hydrated. It balances your pH value and heals the fever quickly.


Process – 1:


  • Take a pair of stocks and insert them in a mixture of apple cider vinegar (equal parts of apple cider vinegar and cool water).

  • Wring out the socks well and put them on your feet.

  • When your socks starts to dry then again re-soak them in the vinegar mixture

  • Put them again to your feet as this will give relief from the fever.

  • It works well for both adults and children.

Process – 2:


  • Take a cup of apple cider vinegar and add this to your warm bathing water

  • Soak in water for about 10 – 15 minutes

  • Take this bath until you get relief from the fever as it will make you feel comfortable.

Process – 3 (Apple Water):


  • Take three fresh apples, peel the skin and core it.

  • Then cut it into small slices

  • Take a pan and pour 3 3/4 cups of water

  • Bring them into a boil and then simmer it until the apples becomes soft and mushy

  • Remove it from the heat and strain it without pressing the apples into the liquid.

  • Let it cool up to room temperature and add 2 tablespoons of honey.

  • Drink it regularly until you get relief from the fever

2 Cream of Tartar


Cream of Tartar helps to give relief from the fever with its natural properties as this is also known as fever tea.


Process:


  • Take one and half teaspoon of cream of tartar, half teaspoon of lemon juice, two and half cup of warm water and half teaspoon of honey.

  • Combine all the ingredients well as all these have to form like a solution.

  • Drink this 4 – 6 ounces at a time to get faster relief from the fever.

  • Repeat the process continuously to get rid of the fever.

3 Basil


Basil is a holy plant in Indian as this has many medicinal values. It acts as anti-bacterial, anti-biotic, anti-inflammatory which helps a lot in curing the fever.


Process – 1:


  • Take a few fresh basil leaves and little of cardamom (the ratio of bail leaves and cardamom should be 1:0.3)

  • Boil them in half liter of water and let it reduce it half of its total volume.

  • Mix it well and add sugar and milk to it to make it like a decoction.

  • Take this decoction for every 2 -3 hours for quick relief from the fever and also to get healthy.

Process – 2:


  • Take a teaspoon of basil powder and 1/4 teaspoon of black pepper.

  • Stir it well and steep it in a cup of hot water

  • Then add a teaspoon of honey

  • Drink this tea for 2 -3 times a day until you get relief from the fever.

4 Garlic


Garlic contains antioxidants which helps to boost your immune system and cures your fever completely.


Process:


  • Take a clove of garlic and mix it in a cup of water

  • Allow this to steep for about 10 – 15 minutes

  • Then strain the liquid and slowly sip the contents.

  • This remedy will help to reduce the chance of getting another fever and also to alleviate your fever symptoms.

  • Or you can simply mix garlic in hot water and drink this twice a day for a week to get complete relief from the fever and its symptoms.

5 Oregano


Oregano acts as stimulant which helps to reduce the fever and it contains vitamin C which helps to boost up your immune system and speed up the healing process.


Process:


  • Take a teaspoon of oregano and a teaspoon of marjoram

  • Steep them in a pint of boiling water for about 30 minutes

  • Strain it and drink this warm tea for a couple times in a day for quick relief.

  • After you used, refrigerate the remaining unused portion as it can be helpful at any time whenever you suffer from fever by warming it gently again.

6 Raisins


Raisins contain antioxidants which help to improve your immune system and thus fight against the fever and it also contain that gives relief from fever quickly.


Process:


  • Take 3/4 cup of chopped raisins and put it in 7 1/2 cups of water

  • Put it on the stove and bring it to boil

  • Then simmer until the water has been reduced to 1/3 cup

  • Allow it to cool for few minutes

  • Drink this for several times a day which helps to keep you hydrated during fever.

7 Pineapple

10 Elderflower


Elderflower also helps to heal the fever as it helps you to get sweat. It also helps to cure cold, flu, cough, etc. by producing over production of mucus.


Process: (Elderflower Tea):


  • Take 2 teaspoons of the elderflower and mix it in a cup of boiling water

  • Stir it and steep it 15 minutes.

  • Strain the tea and drink this to get relief from the fever.

  • Drinking this thrice a day regularly as long as fever continues

11 Ginger


Ginger helps to induces sweating and cools your body to give quick relief from the fever.


Process:


  • Take a little of ginger root and steep it in a cup of boiling water for few minutes

  • Strain the tea and drink this tea.

  • Drink it regularly to heal fever

  • Or you can eat raw or cooked or in tincture form to get cure from the fever.

Important Note: Ginger also helps in treatment of Cough very effectively from your home itself.


Tips to Reduce the Fever:


Here are some useful tips which definitely help to control and give relief from the fever and its symptoms.



  1. When you’re feeling cold then your teeth will start chattering or you feel chilled. So, you will cover your body and make yourself comfortable but once you feel hot than you don’t force yourself under cover.

  2. Sweat glands will release moisture when remove the cover from your body and strip down like a diaper for an infant to get cool your body and give relief from the fever.

  3. Have a bath with cool water (but not ice cold) for about 15 – 30 minutes which helps to cool your body temperature. Or soak a small towel and moist it in cool water and apply it all over your body and forehead to reduce the body’s heat and makes you feel better from fever.

  4. Don’t do any exercise whenever you suffer from fever.

  5. Being hydrated will always helps to make you feel comfortable.  So, drink as much as liquids, fluids are possible. Drink water (cool or normal), fruit or vegetable juices, lemonade, fruit bars, popsicles, flavored ices, or anything you like to drink to keep yourself hydrated.

  6. Lowering your room temperature of your home to keep cool, as it likely make you feel more comfortable by reducing your body temperature. You can use either fans, cooler.

  7. Always try to stay at indoors until and until it is necessary to stay out as indoors provides dry and constant temperature without changing much.

  8. Cool your body from both outside and inside i.e. leaving in a cool temperature will makes you feel cool from outside and eating cold foods like sucking popsicles, fruits, yogurt, applesauce, etc. will works well in cooling you from inside and at last you will get cure from the fever.

  9. Wash your hands frequently and thoroughly when you’re suffering from the fever that to especially before eating and after going to toilets. Make sure to stay away from the infected people.

  10. Take vitamin C regularly to strengthen your immune system and to get quick heal from the fever.

  11. Take a wash cloth and place it on your feet with these things such as slice of raw onions, warm water, lemon, mustard seeds, egg white, etc. first apply this to your feet and then cover it with wash cloth or sock and it is dried then reapply it by soaking it in the mixture again.

If fever makes you uncomfortable then the body is lacking somewhere to eat, drink and sleep. So, take the diet with adequate nutrition, hydration and a complete rest properly and follow these home remedies and tips which help to fight against the causes of the fever and makes you to get relief from the fever. But make sure to consult the doctor when you have fever above 104 degree Fahrenheit as it leads to any health issue.
